Default Static Html Pages

How do I get the static html pages to show in the main area of the screen (ie have the header / menus etc remain and the css referenced). Is there an easy way? Then when the catalogue is generated these pages are also created (that is if they are php and not html).

What do people think about using the products functionality as a content management system i.e have a category called factsheets and then lots of sub cats and put all the information pages in there?

I am building a shop that is also to be primarily an information resource so info is a big thing for me. Another option I suppose is to go on source forge and integrate a content management system - anyone done anything like this and has an opinion on it?

thanks
Vivienne

Just use embedded static pages...they show up as content in the main area.

Default Now this is a really stupid question I am sure

To embed a static page?

I go into static pages and create or find it but how do I then call it. If I call it by path eg naturalvetcompany.com/Factsheets/about.html then I just get the text - how do I see it embedded.

What I did for some I did is add them in the help section then add language variables for the contect then elseif s in the help index.

I am sure this is overkill!

You would call it via this link:

pages.php?pageid=x

Where x is the number of the page you created. You can see it by moving your mouse over the page name in the Static Pages section. It will also show up on your help menu automatically

Default where are you inserting the embed code for you static page?

I want to the same thing as vivian above but i also want to have them link from some of the main menu bar verses just having menu be all products.

to be more clear i want to have static pages appear in the center with all the side menus etc but then i want to link to these from the menu bar
canyou explain a bit more?
thanks
