Default Adding static pages.

I've had a look at previous posts and can't see anything that answers my question. I have got embedeb static pages worked out and thought the root static page would be the answer to my needs but if it is I can't get it to work.

What I want to do is add a static page under where the featured products would be when a user first enters the store. I thought this is where root statis pages would be seen. I've added a root static page and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Can anyone give me a clue where the root static page should be and if i can add some sort of content in the central area of the store.

regards

andy

Hi,

Your root static pages lie at the same level as your index page and are not embedded.

Embedded static pages use your site template and allow you to fill the middle section with content and are then accessed from your Help menu.

To add content to the central section of the home page you need to edit templates.

Have a look at skin1/customer/main/welcome.tpl. You could add content here.
You could also look at customer/home.tpl
If you look between the comments for this is where this area is built.

Hope that gets you moving in the right direction.
