Is there a way I can do a search that looks inside the contents of a file?

For example, if I want to find all occurences of a word or phrase such as "xcart_categories," is there something I can use to find this without having to open each individual file and search for it? This would mlake it easier to work with the templates, etc.

Is there a utility for this?

Can I do this search on the web server or would I have to download the files to a local computer to do the search?

What I do is download the whole site to my computer and use Dreamweaver's search.
