can you hide minicart until customer has added something to their cart?

I have a site on the go which would benefit from not having the minicart slapped in peoples faces the moment they arrive to the site!
It's an art gallery and whilst they want an e-commerce aspect involved, they don't want to hit people over the head with it and spoil the ambience!

This might work, just surround the include with an if statement:

{if $minicart_total_items > 0}
