Default Replace welcome-text with html

Hi,

is there a (easy) way to replace the welcome-text on the frontpage with a html page with logos and links?
I've had a look in the forum, but couldn't find anything...

Robert

Hi, Roberts

The file welcome.tpl displays the welcome-text and can be changed (with html) according to your needs.
You can find it in: shop/skin1/customer/main/

{$lng.txt_welcome} displays the welcome-text itself and can be changed
through languages in admin.

I hope this covers what your were looking for.

Hi Jerrad,

TNX for your answer.
This I've found out already, it works perfect with plain html.

Can it be right, that the *.tpl files doesn't accept css code?

BTW, all the tips to get tpl's edited by dreamveaver are not working in my installation (inserting tags in "control.xml" etc.)

Robert

P.S.: Know this all are dumb questions, but I'm an absolute html beginner. My html guy left me alone with a half ready shop...

CSS can indeed be used in the templates. The master CSS file is skin1.css. Just add the style to that stylesheet and call it via the templates.

The templates are tough to read in Dreamweaver because they use Smarty code. I believe there is a plug-in available that will pick up Smarty.
