Default Home.php takes site 30 seconds for request time
And when it finally hits the page, it appears instantly. I'm currently contacting the server provider, any ideas.

About a 3 second delay for me....I've seen MUCH worse!

Hey, not bad at all. Things may change as you add in more products/categories, but speedy enough.

Altering the template files sure as heck started this problem.
And its not like altering was dramatic.
What really slows down these templates?
Or what template files really slow it down?



I originally had 30 seconds to load with shopkey, this cut down to 3+ when I turned off the shop key -> general settings.

Don't know if it would make a difference, but try moving all the javascript to before the </head>
