In my situation it would be a store wide filter, or category based if the customer chooses.

Is this a standard feature of this module?

Thanks in advance

Althought, it's not a default feature of the addon, we may add it to your very store as a customisation. Also, since you are not the first asking about the feature, we will think about adding it to the module. Thank you.

Dear Vladimir,

The files I see in the FILE AREA are from October the 2nd. Are these the last ones?

Yes, the new packages are already there for some time. We need a break to have the manual updated.

I installed the October release 4.5.3
I am missing the following requested functionality for the "Feature Comparison Module"

1. We need to be able to enable/disable certain product class options. see my screen shot at http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?p=360776#post360776

2. The order in which the "product class options" are listed in the filter are not confirming to which the OrderBy is set in the admin. Requested by Chris:
http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?p=360793#post360793

I think there was some confusion as to which OrderBy we are talking about.
Look at the configuration page of:
http://help.x-cart.com/index.php?title=File:Modify_product_class.png
I am talking about the OrderBy in the "Product class options". Laptop has 8 options and you can set the OrderBy in which the options should be listed. Refine filters is not ordering the options correctly.

I love the Ajax dynamic updating when clicking on a filter, thank you.

You're almost there...

Hey guys,

I have two questions about this module:

1. How customizable is the module? I dislike the standard setup - our shop uses a top-menu for filtering. Is the module customizable with css/templates or does it have a fixed layout?

2. How does the filter module handle large amounts (100+) of products? Our site uses big categories where the customer filters away what he/she wants. Is the performance of Refine Filters good enough for this?

Thanks in advance,
Carlos

OK, I understand but what are you really trying to enable/disable? If it's filters in the frontend, you need to do that at another page.

Again, it's necessary to distinguish filters and it's sources such as product options, filter classes, extra fields, feature comparison classes. You've set an order for *filter classes* and expect it to change *filters* order. That's not going to happen. You need to go to filters management page, choose a category and adjust the filters order.

Hope that makes sense.

Well, it's not harder than any other X-Cart module or X-Cart itself. If you need to move filters menu from left-side to top, you will need to modify templates. Smaller things may be changed in CSS.

100+ is not really a large amount. We do have clients who have more than $15K products with filters working smoothly. It strongly depends on the server you are using though.

I meant 100 products in one category - but can I take from your reply that 100+ won't be a problem? We're running the shop on a dedicated server. The reason I ask is that we currently use a custom made one I wrote myself, which rewrites the results in PHP (which isn't a very smart method). I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone: new filter for the new X-Cart which is better (AJAX) and faster (speed improvement).

Thanks again!
