where can find the favicon under Edit templates? How can i replace the xcart icon that appears at the browser tab?

Moved to X-Cart Customization > Storefront Design & Template Editing in v 4.5.x

It's in the root folder: favicon.ico
You'll need ftp access/software to replace that.

Look under your store root directory via an FTP client I use core ftp lite so you would look in public_html/yoursite/xcart folder/favicon.ico

I just renamed mine favicon.ico and therefore did not need to change anything in the file system.

This is helpful. I have created the favicon.ico but am unable to local the correct folder to replace the file. Can you provide additional insight?

Hi,

it is in the main root folder of your xcart installation. If you go through your FTP client to the directory of your xcart store, below all the folders, halfway down the file list you'll find the favicon file

I replaced the image but the x logo is still appearing. Suggestions?

clear XC cache or browser cache.

access direct link like this: www.yourstore.com/favicon.ico and check what icon you see. the old one or the new one? if it is old just press F5 and check again.

Did you leave the old one there? If so remove it and rename your favicon from whatever to favicon.ico that should do the trick
