So I found this thread again after a whole year. It occurred to me that I hadn't made this change yet.

I'd like to display products on the 404 Page is this possible?

XC 404 page is static html page, not even a smarty template. If you want products on it you have to either include the links yourself or recode the way 404 page is called so you can make a smarty template and assign products to it
