Thanks Sergey. I will open a ticket.

I do hope though that it's NOT an upgrade/migrate, and just a data-migrate instead. I certainly do have DB mods, and anyway, what's the point of prepping a new site (where so much is in the DB and not the file system) if the DB will be overwritten. And keeping the old site as-is (and not potentially breaking it with a DB "upgrade") would also be a nice fail-safe in case the new site rollout has problems.

Thanks again,

Paul

Default Re: X-Cart v4.3.2 released

I was wondering if someone could help me. I'm trying to patch from 4.3.1 to 4.3.2. I haven't really modified much yet, except the .css files. In my patch log I'm getting the obvious 'could not patch' errors on those files.

However, I'm also getting a 'could not patch' error on skin1/customer/minicart_total.tpl and I can't find the corresponding minicart_total.tpl.diff file in the downloaded package. Is it even there, or has it just been a long day?

Any help would be appreciated...

Could you please provide your X-Cart store URL?

The URL is shopnextny.com. I managed to upgrade by installing a fresh xcart 4.3.2, linking back to the old database and running the sql patches. Then I compared my modifications to the default install of 4.3.2. and 4.3.1 and sifted them back in. Some of the bugs I was having disappeared, so it seems to work so far. I was using skin fashion mosaic pink, when I downloaded the new xcart I changed the default skin to lucid 2 column. Some of the bugs I was having disappeared I still did not find the minicart_total.tpl.diff file?

Thank you for your explanations.

Could you please create a new support ticket in your personal Helpdesk account and report all the problem details there. Our engineers will look into the issue.

Besides, please provide the upgrade pack you downloaded from the "File Area -> Get upgrade pack" section (the one which is related to the problem). You can attach it to your message posted in the new support ticket.

Also, let us know what check-boxes you selected when downloading the upgrade pack:

Add-on: X-AOM (Advanced Order Management)
Add-on: X-FancyCategories
Add-on: X-RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization)
Artistic Tunes
Crystal blue
Fashion Mosaic
Flexy rectangles
Neon lights
Vivid dreams

Thank you.

Is it worth upgrading some of our site to 4.3 from 4.2 or is it best to wait for the 4.4 beta?

Depends on whether or not you need features of v4.4
If there are no features you can't live without - don't upgrade.
If there are features you must have - upgrade once v4.4 is released as a production version, not as a beta one.

I believe there is more to the decision than just features, such as upgrades from 4.2 and how much longer 4.2 will be officially supported.
