Forgive my reopening this subject. I've read multiple threads on this and still don't have the answer.
I'm wanting to change the logo size in my new site. (based on fashion mosaic template)

I've tried so many of the things people are suggesting to edit in main.css
and customer/head.tpl but have had no progress. My larger logo is proportioned the same, but cropped to the same size as was there.

Also, I need to adjust the size of the banner on the home page.

The css for that would be in altskin.css.

You should use firefox and fire bug and all that information will be easy to track down.

I'm sorry, I'm not a developer. I have a simple background in HTML work and mostly design.

I've got firefox and firebug and just took a look at altskin.css, but where is that code to make the actual logo image larger?

I was able to expand the header height after the speedbar but that's as far as I've gotten.

Currently the site is on the X Cart Tech Suppor Servers, as they've just done an upgrade to the site.

I've discovered the Banner adjustments in the altskin.css but there seems to be some padding that isn't allowing it to match up with the height of the menu bar.

Also, no matter what I change I cannot get the header to adjust from 203 x 48 to (350px by 75px)

There are several adjustments to the header needed as this is most likely a background image of a single element withing the header. Wait until QT is done with your upgrade before you start dealing with design change elements. At the very least wait until the cart is back on your server.
