Hey everyone.

I'm wondering if it's possible to mod the header of the default lucid skin (where the search bar is) to include static pages such as "About Us", "Contact Us" etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to move the "speed bar" which is part of customer/top_menu.tpl to the area of head.tpl right after where search.tpl is called.

What I usually do is add the include of search.tpl to top_menu.tpl and replace the call to search.tpl in head.tpl with top_menu.tpl. Included in top_menu.tpl is the part that displays your phone numbers. If you don't want them, or want them someplace else, just comment them out.

This gets confusing real quick, especially if you are new to it. Just take a look at the "speed bar" section of skin1/customer/top_menu.tpl, and you should be able to figure out what it is doing. Then just replicate it where you want it to be.

And absolutely make backups of everything, and don't use the "edit files" portion of x-cart to make your modifications or you will "lose" everything every time you make a change.
