Categories / Menu Dissapears on Product and category pages, please help

I don't know what I've done here but I am losing the menu items when in sub cat and menu pages. I have gone through everything I have edited and it still does it!! Anyone ever had this issue, so frustrating.

it's xcart 4.2.2

My bet is on an unclosed tag or a wrong include.

I found the problem, Tal was incredibly helpful,

In general settings:

" If ticked, the categories list always shows root categories"

once ticked they all came back!
