Working in 4.2, I am trying to lower the position of the continue shopping button and the checkout button next to it. What's happening is the header 2 bar is covering up 2/3 of these buttons. I'm also trying to figure out how to move the home speed bar to another location on the site. Thank you.

look at the main.css and margin-top for the container

You probable want to make #header height and margin-top in #content-container the same

I started off with the fashion mosaic skin.

.flc-container #content-container {
margin-top: 121px;

seems to be the line in the main.css file that controls how far down the shopping cart buttons start. If you want it lower, change the 121 to a larger number.
