Is there a way to force X-Cart to allow the placement of a .swf file instead of an image for the product photo?

Here are a couple of suggestions:
- try this mod for adding the video in a shadowbox

- Use an extra field for the swf - then add code to filter the extra filed and display the video on your product page as you want it.

I am actually using it now in an extra field, I'm just not happy with it. I would rather it be in the product image location.

You can remove/comment out the code for the regular image display, then display the extra field with the swf wherever you want on the product page.

You can run the section that loops through the extra fields, then just display the one for the swf only. This thread should tell you how.

(I am assuming 4.2 did not change the method & smarty for extra fields. If 4.2 is different - you may have to ask to move this to the 4.2 thread.)
