![]() Hi guys,
I want to move the type for each category below the thumbnails on the category page, so that it is right at the bottom of each category. So that customers are not interrupted with the text at top of page. Please see this link to see what I mean, http://www.justbedding.com.au/Luxury-Bedding-p-1-c-250.html I think this would be a good mod for anyone, as it would increase SEO and not deflect from a users browsing of categories. Look forward to your help. Many thanks.

![]() By "type" do you mean the text, ie, the category description?
In the example, you would want all of that text about Luxury Bedding below the products?

![]() Yes - that's what I meant.
It called 'type' in admin category where you would input the text. So all the text about Luxury Bedding to go below the product thumbnails. Any ideas? Many thanks.

![]() Hi xcarter,
To move your category description text: Locate in customer/main/subcategories.tpl the following line and copy it. Then {*comment it out *}... Code:
Then further down the code locate the following include... Code:
and paste the copied code you've commented out immediately afterwards (and add a BR for some layout). So the resulting code (including the include) will look like... Code:
Hope this helps.

![]() Thanks so much for your help. Though it didn't work.
I followed your instructions exactly, with not much luck. Below is my code for /customer/main/subcategories.tpl {* $Id: subcategories.tpl,v 1.55.2.1 2006/06/27 08:20:37 svowl Exp $ *} {if $active_modules.Bestsellers ne "" and $config.Bestsellers.bestsellers_menu ne "Y"} <p /> {include file="modules/Bestsellers/bestsellers.tpl"} {/if} <p /> {if $active_modules.Special_Offers} {include file="modules/Special_Offers/customer/category_offers_short_list.tpl"} {/if} {*if ($navigation_page eq "")||($navigation_page eq "1")}{$current_category.description}<p />{/if*} {capture name=dialog} {assign var="tmp" value="0"} {foreach from=$subcategories item=c key=catid} {if $c.category}{assign var="tmp" value="1"}{/if} {/foreach} {if $subcategories} <table cellspacing="5" width="100%"> {foreach from=$subcategories item=subcat name=sl} {if $smarty.foreach.sl.index is div by 3}<tr>{/if} <td width="33%" class="{if $smarty.foreach.sl.index is div by $cells}SubCat2{else}SubCat1{/if}" onmouseover="this.className='SubCatOver'" onmouseout="this.className='{if $smarty.foreach.sl.index is div by $cells}SubCat2{else}SubCat1{/if}'" onclick="parent.location='home.php?cat={ $subcat.categoryid }'" align="center" valign="top"> <a href="home.php?cat={ $subcat.categoryid }"><img src="{if $subcat.icon_url}{$current_category.icon_url}{else }{$xcart_web_dir}/image.php?id={$subcat.categoryid}&type=C{/if}" alt="" /></a><br> <a href="home.php?cat={ $subcat.categoryid }"> <font size="{if $current_category.parentid eq "0"}2{else}2{/if}"><b>{ $subcat.category|escape }</b></font></a><br> { $subcat.description|escape } {if $config.Appearance.count_products eq "Y"} {if $subcat.product_count} { $subcat.product_count } {$lng.lbl_items} {elseif $subcat.subcategory_count}<br>({ $subcat.subcategory_count } Subcategories) {/if} {/if} </td> {if $smarty.foreach.sl.iteration is div by 3 or $smarty.foreach.sl.last}</tr>{/if} {/foreach} </table> {/if} {if $tmp and $products ne "" } <br clear="left" /> <hr size="1" noshade="noshade" /> {/if} {if $products} {if $sort_fields} <div align="right">{include file="main/search_sort_by.tpl" sort_fields=$sort_fields selected=$search_prefilled.sort_field direction=$search_prefilled.sort_direction url="home.php?cat=`$cat`&"}</div> {/if} {if $total_pages gt 2} <br /> { include file="customer/main/navigation.tpl" } {/if} <hr size="1" width="100%" /> {include file="customer/main/products.tpl" products=$products} {/if} {if $products eq "" and $tmp eq "0"} {$lng.txt_no_products_in_cat} {/if} {/capture} {include file="dialog.tpl" title=$current_category.category content=$smarty.capture.dialog extra='width="100%"'} <br /> {if ($navigation_page eq "")||($navigation_page eq "1")}{$current_category.description}<p />{/if} {if $products eq ""} {if $f_products ne ""} <p /> {include file="customer/main/featured.tpl"} {/if} {/if} { include file="customer/main/navigation.tpl" } Where I we have gone wrong? Much appreciated.

![]() Hmm sorry about that - a bit odd.
Did you clear the template cache after making the change? Using cleanup.php Can you use webmaster mode to specify which template is being called? I'm not familiar with xcart calling description text 'type'. Can you provide a uri of the page that is called within admin, where you entered the text? Was it something like admin/category_modify.php?cat= in the address bar?

![]() https://www.justbedding.com.au/admin/category_modify.php?cat=250
This above is the page I input text in admin. The 'type' section is just below the 'category' name input row. According to webmaster mode - it seems like it is definitely customer/main/subcategories.tpl Also, yes I did use clean up. No need to be sorry - I really appreciate your assistance. Any more ideas? Thanks

![]() Sorry xcarter, I am stumped by this 'type' thing you're referring to and I have no ideas whether it is part of xcart or not.
Does entering random text at the top of subcategories.tpl print out anything as well?
