Hello,
I had bad experience with x-cart custom develpement services, they still have not finished work and make side mistakes,


I don't know what in the world they did - but if you go to anyof my catagory - you will see 2 featured products boxes - one with catagory featured items, and one which I use on main page~ I tried to get rid of it and deleted all the featured items on frontpage but it's still showing it in catagories and also in product listings!


and look at that page and visit any catagory than go to browse products and see that featured items are showing in that too.

Please tell me how to get rid of that.

Ok, I figured out what's showing.

I had bought x-cart proffessional service and asked for module called new releases - you can see example at www.indofilms.com which shows products of choice from all catagories - just as featured products module in x - cart allows you to do. and I asked that catagory wised too, means that each catagory has it's own new releases module which can display product from only that catagory where as on main page from all catagory.



-What x-cart did was, they linked New Release Catagory - which is a subcatagory of main hindi catagory under all catagory pages, so it displays all products in that catagory under each catagory page!

any one any idea?

I would talk to X-Cart Support. They should be able to correct this and they did do the initial work.

I have never dealt with X-Cart development but from what I have read, you need to be very concise and explicit with what you want done with development.

Pointing at another site and saying "I want that" is bound to create lots of problems.

You could try Shan or Funky. They may be able to help. It may cost money.

I have them a live example from www.indofilms.com and I have gave very deep detail for that too.


I also suggested that they can just create same feature as x-cart has featured products system.


But just name it new releases, sale, coming soon but they screw everythign up.

If you have a site backup (you SHOULD), then perhaps contact FunkyDunk. I believe that he has already created this module, and perhaps he could unplug your X_cart development and implement his.

or do a search on the boards for "newest product" and do the work yourself.

Your store isn't live is it? In the future, I would recommend purchasing a separate licence and developing on a back up store.
