Default Store front

I am in the middle of updating my x-cart store and wondered how to modify a page (http://www.cioccolatina.co.uk/store/).

My current homepage is http://www.cioccolatina.co.uk.

Can you be more specific? What would you like to modify? That page is a 'splash' page, and is the index.html file in the root directory. I actually suggest turning that off by editing your .htaccess file in the root directory to read:

DirectoryIndex home.php

Thanks balinor for the response. I was hoping to modify the page to something similar to what I already have as my index page.(http://www.cioccolatina.co.uk)

I am currently having to update the index page using frontpage -> ftp. I want to be able to modify all the pages via the admin section of x-cart.

I hope I have made myself a bit clearer.

You can't edit that index.html page through the admin area, as it is not a template. If you follow my suggestion and remove the 'splash' page, you can add whatever content you want to the welcome.tpl template. This is MUCH better for SEO.

Thanks balinor. I managed to modify the index.html and will be using it as my homepage once I update this new "store".

I tried this method and was unsuccessful. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Perhaps you can elaborate on what you did and why it was not successful?

I edited the .htaccess file in the root directory to read:

DirectoryIndex home.php

in order to delete the /store at the end of my domain.

That won't eliminate the /store, the eliminates the splash page (index.html). In order to eliminate the /store, you need to move everything out of the store directory and into the root directory, and then adjust your config.php file. A little tricky if you are not comfortable with FTP and editing php files.
