My client wants her categories to show on the front page. I could swear that originally it was something I removed at her request early last year but I don't remember what I did or where I did it.

I'd like to create something that she can modify within the categories part of the admin, so that if she added to it, it would appear here.

This is for version 4.1.3.

Thank you to anyone that knows the answer to this probably simple question.

Hello Balinor,
I tried it but it didn't change anything. I noticed that the first one had 's around the xcart-config but the other 2 did not. Could this change things? Obviously, I'm not an expert here. Thanks for you speedy help.

Did you update the welcome template as specified as well?

yes I did. I tried it with and without the 's around the xcart config.

I wondered if, since the post was from Oct. 2003, if it would be for an earlier version and not for the 4.1.3.

Oh, ok, sorry. I'm new to the forum.

I still don't know what else I need to do to get this done. Do you know if there is something else I can look at?

I looked in the files via ftp and don't see a file for xcart_config.sql in the sql folder. There are several but they are xcart_config_AU.sql, xcart_config_CA.sql, xcart_config_UK.sql, and xcart_config_US.sql. I opened the US one since that's the one I would need I supposed. It is 0KB in size and had nothing in it. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I tried pasting the INSERT info into the xcart_config_US.sql file and uploaded it but it didn't change anything. I removed it.

Interesting, I was just about to ask the same question as the original.

Would this work on our version (see sig) and ( ) where do I find the "xcart_config" file.

Ok, so I think I sussed How to do it.............from Admin>update>Apply SQL patch.

Should the welcome.tpl be modified before or after the "INSERT INTO" files

Pasting the first "INSERT INTO" line in, with or without the welcome file being changed, gives a sql error that "Column count doesn't match value count row1".

Is this fixable or maybe not suitable for our version?
