can it be done?

i read a thread somewhere which mentioned that you can change the quantity option from being a dropdown box to a text field box by changing a few lines of code in product.tpl.

i was hoping the same will be true for the product variants.

basically i want to have a list of products and the customer just picks which one they want from the list.

i was thinking the variants option is the best option for this. sku and item availabilty is not an issue.

any ideas for this one. i have the checkbox code somewhere but if anyone has any ideas/suggestions it will be gladly appreciated
