Default Redirecting everything back to site

I have had a site designed seperate to Xcart as I wanted more feature than Xcart offered. So for ease of use in the future, I want to redirect contact page etc back to the site I have had designed.

I have a FAQ ( privacy policy etc ) page, home page etc etc.

How do I go about getting all the hyperlinks to go my site, rather tahn a template? And is this what I need to do?

In my opinion, if you are going to use xcart, you should either use it, or lose it.

You can use static pages that can do anything you want -- but I would never leave the cart once your customer is with you.

This doesn't mean that you must always display your menus or header -- it simply means that the cart is in control, not your "external site".

Read up on static pages (static embedded) and learn how to integrate just about anything you want into xcart.

You will probably get friendly with the {literal} tag in smarty.

no issues... just integrate the new code INTO xcart pages.

You simply have to get your head around how to do this (and accept the way things work). You WILL be able to do this... just accept the methodology.

Thanks for your reply Carpeperdiem. It is good to be able to get some feedback.

I am actually going to have articles archives and a members area etc that won't be integrated into Xcart. Xcart is just one part of my site, so it makes more sense for me to link things back to the site itself. Or is there something that I am missing?

I am not going to be able to ( or want to ) have the members are in Xcart and to be honest I am finding Xcart to be not very user friendly, whereas my site is and it will be much easier to change contact details etc in the site area in the future.

Hayles,

I am no expert but would give the suggestion by Carpeperdiem more thought I have pasted a link from x-cart clients page, they have forums and members area. Like Carpeperdiem says you don't want people wandering off site if you can help it, at least this way the're only a click away from the shop.

Kevin...I'm no so sure a1supplements would like their link posted here, did you get their permission? They are one of my clients, and I know they like to analyze their stats/sales data and a bunch of X-Cart guys poking around the site just for kicks won't help things much

Padraic,

Beautiful design and integration of vBulletin. Would you use the subdomain for the forum if you had to do it all over again?

I am a heartbeat from putting a forum up for my site, and actually asked the xcart forum for some suggestions on how to integrate a vBulletin forum a while back...

Is there a beter way to integrate a vBulletin forum?

Thanks.

PS -- I only made a few test orders!

I'm actually not sure why they opted for the sub-domain, that was in place before I got to them Seems to work well though!

Balinor,

No I didn't ask, never thought I was attempting to help Hayles with a suggestion. I thought if went to x-cart would find a x-cart site utilising message boards.

I think I had better send an email appologising.
