Default Calling images above cart dir. will result in error?

1. I am planning on using my own php scripts static pages to create an admin area for customers (to administer their advertising/listings on the site)

2. The images that they will need to have access to are outside of the x-cart directory, but within the same domain.

3. Is there an issue with x-cart that will cause an error when displaying images from above the x-cart directory since they will be logged in and using SSL?

Hope this makes sense!
Thanks-

As long as you use relative links (i.e. /imagename.jpg) instead of absolute (http://www.yourdomain.com/imagename.jpg) there shouldn't be any security issues.
