Hi,
How can I get the domain to show the storefront immediately and not the default X-Cart welcome to the store / enter store default page?

Change your .htaccess file (in the root directory) to read:

DirectoryIndex home.php

I can find this file on my server (in Plesk) but I cannot seem to edit it. Do I edit it through X-Cart admin or on the server or how. At the moment it points to index and not home.php as you suggest it should.

Easiest to edit it via FTP. Download it, edit it with a text editor, and re-upload it.

Default .htaccess
Thanks - I have renamed the file to open it in Notepad and have edited it as suggested but it wont let me rename it .htaccess - what should I do?

You can't rename it that on your local machine...you need to upload it and then change it on the server.
