just something to make the edges round with a bit of colour l bought xcart because l thought it would be easy to make an original website but it is far to complicated that is why l think there is so many people out there making money of the xcart for mods etc its a waste of time unless you have the time and knowledge.

Yes, it is a very steep learning curve, but so is any e-commerce software if you don't know HTML/CSS. There are quite a number of inexpensive 'skins' available from places like 7dana.com and bscensgineering.com

Im thinging about starting a flippin site that could just give free snippits of templates do at least the normal bloke can see what he is doing

Many of us contribute TONS of free code to this forum, including the template editing guide I just wrote. There are quite a few customizations in the Custom Mods forum for things like adding images, rounding corners, etc.

Those who do contribute add-ons, code and useful information such as your tutorial probably feel very taken for granted. This is unfortunate as they are appreciated (at least by me

).

Unfortunately some of us can read, re-read, and read again combined with search after search and still not figure out how to do something or figure out where we went wrong.

It's also hard to get used to the X-Cart forums if you've mainly been involved in carts such as Zencart or OSC. Those forums are very active and at times questions are answered within minutes. So far here, I've asked 3 questions and have only received a partial answer in one of them.

It's not anyone's fault, however it adds to the frustration level of we X-Cart newbies who are reading the manuals, searching and reading post after post. I also know though that some questions have been asked over and over again by some too lazy to search, or those that do search and end up with over 50 pages of results.

Anyway, the contributors are appreciated by more than you know, we just get involved with our frustration and forget to thank them.

So here's an official thank you for the tutorial, it was the first bookmark I made for the forums.

Sadly that is the problem with this forum...everyone wants something but hardly anyone gives back

10201 users and about 10 regularly contribute to answering posts. Pathetic.

It is very unfortunate indeed that some of the users here who have learned from others don't stick around to share the knowledge with those newer than themselves.

In the ZC forums, the answers were abundant, so it got to the point where I would answer newbie questions as I had learned from others.
