One static option throughout the store

Hi, I have been searching the forum, but can't find this anywhere.

I want to create a required text field option for every product in my store, but I don't want to create it over again and again.

Is there any code out there that I can just create one universal text field option for every product in my store. Something that it will just create that text field with validation for every product with me creating it for every product.

I'm looking for something that more of like there is this option by default, so basically if I create an product the option will be there. Nothing I have to do to create the option. Such mod out there?

You are talking about a global product option...afraid not as the options are tied to the product itself

just add a new row to the products table and make it a drop down menu

I thinking more of a text field option.

required for you to fill in or the user ?

for the customer.

Basically, the text field is for customer to fill in information with where are they going to be using this product on. By customer filling in this information it helps us understand customer's needs, and just in case they purchase the wrong product for the wrong area, we can assist them immediatly to prevent any future return, and conflects..
