Trying to use X-cart head.tpl in PhpBB overall_header.tpl

Hi guys, Im just to get to grips with intergration with our forum section and wondered if anyone knows if forums header.tpl could be replaced with x-cart head.tpl

I think you'll have to modify the forum templates themselves. Cutting and pasting the X-Cart head template isn't going to do you any good.

Yeah Im aware that pasting in wont be enough to get it to work, I left the code up as an example of what I would like to do.

I havent a clue which code needs to move to the phpbb templates, does anyone have experience of integrating headers with phpbb?

I have managed to load head.tpl into phpbb header when playing around, but the dynamic data didnt work.

Any help or hints at all would be great.

Like I said...you can't use X-Cart code in phpbb...you need to edit it independently. The two have nothing to do with eachother other than possibly using the same graphics.

What do you mean by these files have to be edited indepentently?

Any chance of more details?

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Head.tpl uses smarty to call variables that are tied to X-Cart. Once you leave the x-cart system, they don't work anymore. Therefore, you need to edit the phpbb templates independently of X-cart. They can look the same, but you will need to edit them seperately.

Simple solution, view the source of your X-Cart page making note of where the header code is that you want to copy, using the already generated HTML file in phpBB's head template will work just the same as theres no smarty variables or anything to interrupt, its all basic html.
