Default manual?

Yeah, thanks for the automated response.
I have downloaded the manual but can find no clear method in it.
Considering that the intro text is only changable on page 34 of the Languages > English > Text section, I have no fear in asking in what special hidden place I can change the company logo of the shopping pages.

Where can I change the logo of the site?

The automated response is due to the fact that you have not read the forum rules and put your version in your signature. No version = no assistance.

So I guess it wasnt automated.

I understand that such a modification should be obvious, but its not to me.

Close, but not quite. Be sure to check the 'yes' box in your profile that says:

Always attach my signature:

As far as the logo, be sure to search the forum thoroughly, as most common questions have been answered numerous times:

Also, as a tip, webmaster mode will assist you immensely in editing site text on the fly, as well as figuring out which template is which.

Not to sound like a smart-ass but have you even looked at any of the templates that control the layout of the site?

Without reading any instructions, I would see the template named "head.tpl" and assume that it was for a header of the site, and then, within that file, I would see HTML code for an image named "xlogo.gif" and assume that it was the logo for the site....

In addition, there is an images directory. Within there I would see an image named "xlogo.gif" and assume that if I created another graphic that was the same size and copied it over the existing one, that I could effectively change the logo I see on the pages.

My point is that I fear that you have not taken the time to even poke around in the files that are part of the distribution or look at all the menu options that are availble to you in Admin. X-Cart is a very flexable system but changing the functionality and/or look is not like using a "point-n-click" IDE. At a bare minimum you should be familiar with HTML.

We are all here to help, but it helps us when we know what version of software you are using and if you have at least a cursory understanding of the structure of the software. This will help you to understand the answers that we will all give you.

Maybe we should ask X-Cart to supply their new version with a spoon!

A spoon. Nice input.

I appreciate that x-cart can be a powerful application but I was lead to beleive that it was all point-and-click, which is why it was purchased. I seriously doubt whether the standard user of xcart products would really have either the interest or the time to explore the wonderful possibilities of the products workings.

Thanks for your assistance.
