Default GOT IT WORKING
I got it working with the header and even put in a new column to make it match the postnuke theme even more...

I created a new menu item template and then pasted the search code from the header into the new template.

I tried that... and it didnt seem to work for me... i need to place the code or point to it in another tpl i am thinking.. inside the customer area...

i'll try it one more time..
actually.. im not going to be using the gift certificate option.. so perhaps i'll just insert it into that table
