![]() I just finished installing x cart and i wanted to check if its correct to set all directories to 755 permission and files to 644 permission. I can't see leaving some directories on 777 and some files on 666 been very safe.

![]() If your server is configured so that PHP scripts can create and overwrite files in the var/ directory, it should be enough for X-Cart to run.
And the upgrade function requires PHP scripts to be able to overwrite all files and directories in the directory where X-Cart in installed.
