Default No "Continue Shopping" button on pop-up..

I find this irritating whenever I have to "operate as user" and administer a customers order manually. If I find it irritating, I imagine the customers are finding it irritating as well.

When you place an item into the basket, a pop-up shows which gives you two buttons (or 3 if you use PayPal):

1) View Cart
2) Checkout
3) Checkout with PayPal (if you have that enabled)

If someone plans to visit your store and purchase 5 things, it is not intuitive for the customer to keep shopping, this thing is pushing them to go to checkout after adding the first item to the cart. Either that, or it pushes them view their cart for some reason - why do they want to view their cart immediately after they just added their first item to the cart? They already know what they just added.

What if they want to buy more stuff? They have to click the "X" in the upper right corner but really, that's not all that apparent. This cart makes them navigate around way more than they should have to just to add another item to the cart.

A simple fix would be to have a "Continue Shopping" button on this pop-up, but for whatever reason, that wasn't incorporated.

How difficult would it be to add a "Continue Shopping" button to the pop-up generated after adding an item to the cart?

Its a good idea. Such a task should not be very difficult. I would look at how the close popup works, then add a template file in your custom module to add the button.

I think the time for this popup being cool passed. It is way more user friendly now to just show a simple message "product added to cart" (with auto close) and let customer use normal site navigation to move to cart/checkout or search for more products.

I agree with this completely. Now how to implement it…

(or how to add a "continue shopping" button…)

Any takes on a custom module?

No need. Turn off the the "add to cart" module. This will stop the popup and show just a message at the top center of screen

Okay, it's sometimes hard to remember which is a module and which isn't! Just disabled that module - WAAAAY better! Thank you!
