Is there a way to have a 'subscribe to newsletter' function? We had that before, but I haven't found a way to do that on xcart 5? We use constant contact for our email management, but we can just export the emails. It doesn't have to connect to CC, we just want a way to confirm a customer actually wants to be added to the email list.

There is no built-in newsletter function in X-Cart 5. Sending lots of e-mails may cause service providers to add your server to a black list. So, it makes sense to outsource this task to a company that is an expert it doing this.

We use Constant Contact, not mail chimp. We also don't need xcart to send out the newsletter as this is done in CC. What I would like, and what we had before in the old version, was the ability to have ppl imput their emails without being logged in, as well as the ability to sign up for the newsletter within their account. We can easily transfer the emails over to CC, we just would like a way to have the customer agree to sign up. We seem to have lost that functionality?

Unfortunately, at the moment in X-Cart 5 there is no feature to collect e-mail addresses from newsletter subscribers and export the list.

It is in our long-term plans, but it will not be released earlier than the 5.3 version.
