I created a new child template .

I made some changes to the home page by editing the welcome.tpl file. (I added categories to the site using the code from the posts below)

ANyway - I do the cache clearing thing and it shows up - fine.

However - after I logged out last night - I come back this am - it's gone. I go to admin do the cashe thing - even ran clean.php with the auth code. ALl looks fine.

The I click on a sub page - go back to the home page - and the cats are gone again.

What else do I have to do ???

Try...

Tools > Maintenance > "Force cache generation" AND/OR "Rebuild category indexes"

Or...

Modules > Flyout Menus > Uncheck "Cache the menu"
