Default Ack. Help. Template help please - newbie

Okay, I managed to get through many problems (simply by rtfm and reading the fourm here) and have my cart running (mostly, some stuff still needs configing) so here is the the first question I have:

I need to integrate some design stuff into the top bar section of each page. It is a simple table that has the logo graphic and a set of rollover images across the bar for navigation.

What I need to do is "remove the 3 tabs" that are on each page in the upper right hand corner (those three things are in the rollovers with the rest of the nav) And insert this table of mine in the correct template so that it is on *every* page.

I've modified my Dreamweaver MX to be able to edit .tpl in wysiwyg and am by no means afraid of 'code view'.

I went to smarty.php.net and I started to read about smarty but for now I am resigned to that fact that I have so much to learn about it and need this quick fix to "see how it works" once to get a better grasp on the whole setup.

What I need to know is which of the giant amount of .tpl files I need to alter to make what I need happen, and if there is anything special I need to do to make it happen:

Remove three tabs in corner, remove the logo (and put my own in); insert a table with my nav linkage which takes up most of all the space above the bar that has the search and language stuff.

Thanks for reading, and hopefully helping.

You can start at /skin1/head.tpl file, where it says:
Quote:
<TABLE border=0 cellPadding=0 cellSpacing=0 width="100%">
<TR>
<TD width=27></TD>
<TD></TD>
<TD valign=top align=right>
{if $usertype eq "C"}
{include file="customer/top_menu.tpl"}
{/if}
</TD></TR>
</TABLE>

Change that table to your own needs. Although it will affect admin view as well.

Thanks!

By the way, something completely off-topic:

I think I had read a few posts about 2checkout.com which you authored (I could be confusing you with someone else as I'm going from memory here) that said you'd like to use them except that they won't let you sell your product type with their service, I was just curious, you don't have to anwser, what type is that?

Yes, its me, I sell Cigars, and I like the way 2checkout works, but they dont accept tobacco like products (just take a look at their page regarding what they dont accept), too bad, I have used them to pay other providers in the past and they seam to work smooth.

Anyway, I'll probably post the reference in the Member Websites Forum so you can take a look, regarding integration with cc probably in a few months, since another problem is that I am in Costa Rica, and most need a valid US bank account.
