I need to create static pages that are not linked from the menus. I presume I need these to be "root" pages. So, two issues....

1. Root pages require all the HTML be supplied. So I am assuming they will not look like the other X-Cart pages. But I don't know this for sure because....

2. When I try to create them is says "is protected from writing" and will not create. Embedded pages work fine. 2b) Can I make embedded pages but suppress them from the menu, but still link them from elsewhere?

Best of using the embedded option for look and feel.

The file to edit is pages_menu.tpl

just {* *} all the content there or delete it if you like and the pages wont appear in the help menu for you.

I think I follow you. Make embedded pages, but supress them from the menu using the template you indicated.

How can I tell what link to use to point to these pages then?

the first page you create will be:

pages.php?pageid=1

got a different question about the embedded static pages.

We have a message board and I am trying to do a php include to grab that board and put it into the template system.

This is not working so my question is can it be done?
