I just bought XCart and hiring a programmer to install it and re-skin it along with some edits, but I am sending him layered Photoshop files of the different pages... question is what kind of dimensions (pixels x pixels) should I design the photoshop file ?

I know there are all sorts of monitors out there, laptops, desktops, etc. with all sorts of screen resolution displays. I want to keep in generally good for everybody... 1024 x 768 or what ?

I usually code for 1024 unless there's a specific reason to do otherwise for the target audience.
