Deleted Privacy Statement from Languages Section - Can I Get It Back?

Can someone tell me how to restore my Privacy Statement? I was trying to edit the text and accidentally deleted the entire statement from the database.

Now there is a blank space in my "Help" box where the Privacy Statement used to reside. I have tried adding back the values, but it does not work.

Go into your 'Languages' area, select 'text' and find the privacy statement variable. Type what you want into the box and click on the 'update' button.

I somehow completely deleted it. When I do a search for text with the term "privacy" it comes up blank!

You then need to go to your database backup. You can open it in a text editor. Please tell me that you have a recent backup?

I have a backup but it is 2 months old. Is there a way to restore just what I deleted or is it all or nothing?

Open your sql backup in a text editor. It will be scary looking. BUT - your content will be in there. Find the entry (search for key phrases) and you should be able to fish it out.

If your privacy statement is the standard - why not just cut & paste from another site (going through the Languages Section of Admin)?

I hope you mean a stock xcart install -- if you steal my text, you're stealing. Privacy statements should be personalized to the vibe of your store and company. I would never "steal" content. It's just wrong.

Yes - I mean a stock install. I'll try to word my posts more carefully in the future. Here is the text from the stock install:
