I've searched the forums but can't seem to find the answer to the problem I have:
there are no images showing on any https page ... can somebody shed some light on this?

Product images or non-product images?

Did you call them using this code:

<img src="{$ImagesDir}/imagename.jpg">

if not, that is what you need to do, and put all the images in the skin1/images directory.

I understand what you mean with your suggestion but I haven't changed anything regarding the root to any image and when I switch from https://www.mydomain.com to http://www.mydomain.com they show immediately ... strange right? Even my admin section (also under https) doesn't show images.

Well, how do you have your images coded?

Is it possibly a shared SSL & the secure directory may be different from the http directory, just a thought

Sorry how do you mean? Like <img src="{$ImagesDir}/imagename.jpg">? If so, that's the case.

I persume it's shared; would that be a problem?

How can I check if the secure directory is different from the http one? Check with my isp?

No sorry i didnt read the post properly, if the SSL & HTTP were different Directories like sometimes happens with shared SSL certs you wouldnt get anything at all in https, it wouldnt just affect the images alone.
