Hello to all,

It has been two week since I have X-Cart, and this is my first post in this community. A lot of problems have been solved when reading in this forum (many thanks to those that have helped me without knowing!!! ), but I have still many questions left.

The most important comes from the fact that I don't plan to build an online shop in this moment, but just a nice catalog of music equipment, full of specs and details.

For that reason I would like to disable the modules for shopping cart, shipping, security, prices, stock, etc. Just keep the catalog, login, language, help and advanced search features.

The only way I know to do this is by converting the whole catalog to .html and deleting by hand everything I don't want. This will make my life miserably now and in the moment I start to sell (I would have to insert the descriptions one by one in embedded static pages).

Any ideas on how to do this?

Welcome to X-Cart! No need to do that, you can just hide certain pieces by using comments in the code. If you use the forum search, you can find threads that will show you how to hide prices, the add-to cart button, etc. The main templates you want to edit will be home.tpl, products.tpl or products_t.tpl and product.tpl. Thanks a lot for your quick response Balinor. Actually, I printed your post when I saw it one week ago and I have used it since then to costumize my shop. Nice Bible.

I saw a lot of posts about change the way the shopping features look like, but none of them about how to remove them completely. I guess it's a question of going deeper in searching the right answers in here.
