Default parse error

The site we have built shows a parse error upon trying to enter the site:
www.e-autotrim.com

I looked at the lines in the menu.tpl template and there are not 39 lines as the error reads. I am new to this so I really am not sure where to look for the problem. There are only two of us working on this site and neither of us have attempted to change the templates. One day the site was accesible, the next it was not. Also, when logging into the admin section of our site the layout has changed. The menu options normally shown on the right side of the screen are not there. Has x-cart changed this or is something wrong?

parse error reads :
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/eautot/public_html/xcart/templates_c/%%99^99B^99B93101%%top_menu.tpl.php on line 39

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Looks like you need to clear out your templates_c directory. You can do this in the 'Summary' section of the admin area, or just delete the files via ftp.

What exactly is the templates_c directory and why should it be cleared/deleted? Thanks for the quick reply.......

Matt

In this directory the template files are cache for faster execution. It generates every time. It will occupy some spaces and can clear them.

Thank you for the info. Where will I find the file? I do not see the "summary" section mentioned earlier. I am using the X-cart gold. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the menu options in the admin area normally listed on the left side of the screen are no longer there. This area included the menu option for doing a back up. does anyone no what has caused this. Thanks for the help, appreciate all the time the forum saves.

Default follow up

I was hoping someone would look at this link. This is one of the pages for the x-cart gold admin site which reflects some of the issues i mentioned above. I can't access the summary section in admin. The pages looks like the link w/ all the info missing.

We can't see that beause you need to be logged in

Open up your site in FTP, and delete all of the files in the templates_c directory. See if that helps.
