Hi

Quote:
Simply setting DirectoryIndex home.php in an .htaccess file should do the trick, no customization to X-Cart should be required.

I have changed the .htaccess file with this code

Code:
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html home.php

But luck is not working at my side , still the urls under subcategory and breadcrumb are showing home.php
Any suggetion from yourside will really help me a lot.

Thanks,

Hi

So it means that I am on wrong track. I found a file "location_ajust.php" under the directory of partner and admin. I am not sure are they linked with my problem or not. I made changes there but they were not fruitful.

Is there any specific solution for my particular case or not? Secondly If I am on wrong track then please guide me in which direction I should look for.

Thanks for any comments.

Please clarify exactly what you are trying to do. The .htaccess file sets the landing page of your cart. If you don't want an entry page, you use index.php, which redirects to home.php. What is wrong with home.php?

Thanks for quick reply.

My problem is, I don't want to use home.php any where in the site. Is it possible?

I put all code of home.php in index.php and similarly in "categories.tpl" file I also change in the url i.e. replace "home.php" with "index.php". Now main categories are coming with right url like index.php?cat=231 The problem is with subcategories and with breadcrumb. They directed toward like home.php?cat=231

Url of the website is www.kneebracesonline.com

Thanks,
Waqar

I'm thinking that it is going to be a bit more complex than that, as home.php is referenced in numerous files. Why would you want to do this?

Actually this is client requirement. They want this change in order to make the site more SEO. Although I have studied here that there is no impact of using "index.php" instead of "home.php" regarding SEO point of view.
So any comments or guidance regarding current issue.

Thanks

Yea, the client is always right, but in this case they aren't! I'd suggest opening a ticket with X-Cart to see what they have to say about it. Also might want to suggest this mod to your client, which would eliminate all SEO issues with php files:
