Hi,

I'm finding customer notes to be very annoying on orders. Customers ask for advice, or ask for a call back, etc. Is there a quick and easy way to remove this comment box from the order form?

Sure, but are you sure you want to do that? Customers ask for things for a reason They may be annoying, but they are your customers!

If you want to remove the notes box from checkout, remove this line of code from customer/main/checkout.tpl:
