When I originally installed X-cart I only chose the "States of the country" for the United States. I didn't realize that you could also install states for other countries like Canada, UK, etc and they could appear in a select drop down when that country is chosen. This is initially set up when you run install.php and you see:
States table States of the country where the shop is located (use Ctrl key to select multiple options) Can anyone recommend a way to configure states for countries long after your store has been set up?

Pretty sure you can just run the SQL queries in the SQL folder...but I'm not 100% sure so backup first!

For any of you wondering, this does in fact work. I added Canada to a client's US only store by running the states_CA.sql in the SQL folder (after a database backup up of course).
This was version 4.0.5 p.s. - Be sure to add international shipping methods too Hope that helps!
