Default Template Site

So to start off with I own www.clanthemes.com which a phpnuke based site that we are considering converting to drupal or joomla.

The reason for these changes are we are outgrowing our current shop module and the developer no longer supports it. We have multiple sellers with a clunky admin interface that doesn't work well.

Our products also contain multiple files for GPL purposes. I found this in the forums and we settled that.

My question is it possible to have a regular price and unique price?

Thanks,
Mack

If you mean a non-exclusive and exclusive price, then yes.
Just need to set it as a variant.

Excellent... The more I learn, the more I love it as a viable option for a replacement. Is there anyway for me to also earn money by people buying products from another provider?

Thanks

Hi Mack,

Thank you for taking interest in our software and welcome aboard.

Could you explain desired process workflow and desired results a bit more detailed?

Also, you can find good explanation of X-Cart product variants/options at:

I was just curious if I would earn any money from other vendor's sales in my shop.

So lets say I allow "John Doe" to sell his products to my already large customer base.... What do I get from John Doe? It seems like I should earn a percentage for letting him sell in my store.

Ok so you have 1 skin, with 2 options. Either the purchaser can pay $99.99 for non-exclusive or $999.99 for the exclusive version.

So of course you would want an unlimited qty of the non-exclusive but only 1 of the exclusive.

Once the exclusive is bought how do you stop the non-exclusive from being sold. You could of course manually disable the product once the exclusive is bought, but if you are selling a ton of these it could be a pain, and there is no guarantee that a non-exclusive wouldn't sneak in there quickly and buy the skin before you could disable it.

I believe you are considering PRO edition of X-Cart.

The PRO version was designed for online stores selling products from multiple "providers" (merchants, vendors, suppliers, sellers) within single joint catalog. Each provider has his own password-protected area to upload and maintain his goods. But in terms of front-end, customers see a single shop, and the same URL for the whole catalog. The catalog includes all products from all providers.

Customers can purchase products from different providers at a time, and will get a statement from each provider they've bought products from. Respectively, each provider will get orders for his products only.

All payments are collected by the merchant account of site owner (admin). Anytime the admin can check each provider's income. It's up to the admin how much to pay to each provider. And it's up to the admin how to pay - send a check or perform online transfer of money, etc. Please note, X-Cart doesn't reflect how much you ever pay to your providers. The deal is between you and the provider, it's out of X-Cart control.

Yes we are considering the PRO version for sure and we are going to be buying this software for sure. Thanks for the support. I am curious if anyone has built a bridge for xcart / joomla, but I know it is possible even if it has to be custom coded.

I am afraid there is no such connector on X-Cart Marketplace. However, there may be some body else who created such mod but haven't got it listed in the Marketplace. Try to google!
