Default Before I Buy

I've been looking at the demo and documentation, but cannot figure out how to put a single item "On Sale" with it's own unique special sale price. Something that can be highlighted (maybe in red?) to let a user know they are getting this item on sale.

Assuming I understand your question, you can do this very easily.

In a product detail page, you have the option of a Retail price and a For sale price (this may not be verbatim, but it does exist.

Simply put the "Retail price" as the original price and the "For sale" price as what your selling it for. It will calculate the difference and show it as a savings.

If your product has multiple variants (ex: different colors) you can set each variant to a different price for different sale amount.

Also, you can just put red large font "On Sale" phrase in a product description so your web-site visitors will be able to see it when they open the product page or a category where the product is listed. X-Cart allowes HTML tags in product descriptions.

Also, you can have a root category for "On Sale" items that you can highlight via categories menu (e.g. see http://marketplace.x-cart.com/Miscellaneous/special-offers/ - it's a not a root category, but you can make it a root one). In addition I want to note that you may like X-Cart mods for categories browsing listed at X-Cart Marketplace Categories mods section

You are welcome to contact us with any questions!
