How to charge for "text field" in Product options?
Hello All,
I am trying to set up a product that will allow the customer to submit their custom message. I can do this just fine be leaving the "option list" blank for that specific product option. However, what I need to do, is to charge $5 more if the customer fills out that option field. In other words... If the option filed is blank there is not upcharge. BUT If the option field contains text, add $5 The only default solution I found was to create the blank text box, but then also create a drop down option saying "Custom Message Yes, Custom Message No". The only problem with this is that it tends to be confusing for the customer. Maybe the answer lies in using "exceptions" or "product validation". However, I know very little about these features. Any thoughts would be great. Sincerely, Piper

What if instead of a drop down menu, you used two radio buttons? The first could be selected by default next to text stating "No Custom Message" and then the second next to a text field?

I guess I'm not sure how to have x-cart generate a radio button. I'm using the latest v3.5.x. Are radio buttons a part of 4.x?
Thanks, Piper
