Hello everyone. I am brand new and am (at this point) just trying to edit the basic colors of my store. This is the error I get when "previewing" the skin1.css file and/or trying to save it through x-cart's admin panel:

Fatal error: Smarty: [in ./skin1.css line 1]: syntax error: invalid attribute name - '#550000;' in /home/****/public_html/xcart/Smarty-2.1.1/Smarty_Compiler.class.php on line 1387

I apologize again, but can someone also point me in the right direction on changing the default skin (if this is possible). Thank you.

Not sure on the error you're getting in skin1.css
Have you tried restoring the file to see if that eliminates the error?

The help manual has a decent guide on what steps to take to change the skin. Believe it applies to most versions, but then I've worked only with 3.1. Check your member area for it. If not there, just send them a message to request it be uploaded for you.

Welcome aboard!
I've always had the same problem with previewing. Not sure why, though.
I just save the template and go back if I want to alter it again.
You might have to refresh to see changes.

It's not a bad idea to make a back-up of the template first!!


And yes...you can alter just about everything in X-cart.
