I am new to X-Cart and have a few questions....Thanks in advance for the help!

1. How can I format my page so that it has a set width? I want it to be the same size no matter what computer and browser are viewing so it looks the same universally. Some site that have this set page width are listed here so you know what I mean: www.yahoo.com or www.webpronews.com
Basically, I don't want my page to fill up the entire screen because it will look slightly different for each viewer.

2. In my search bar at the top of the page, I currently have a mini cart. Is there a way to add links on the right sight of the search bar?

3. When editing the menus (Categories, Specials, Authentication), I changed menu names in Language --> English. I made a mistake and left the title for "Specials" blank. Now I can't find it in the Language -->English-->Titles list. I need to rename it so the menu title isn't blank. How do I do that? Also, I want to add links in addition to "Gift Certificates" in that menu, how would I do that? (You can see this at my test site- it is the second menu from the top: www.boardzo.com

4. I want to create some pages like FAQ, About Us. How To, etc. with the same format as all other pages (Header, menus, search bar) and basically have the content be my html page that I created. How do I create a page that follows the same site template but includes my own content.

Sorry if any of these are repeat questions. If so, please just direct me to the correct posting.

1. Edit rectangle_top.tpl and change the width of the table to a fixed width instead of a percentage. Note that this will change both your customer side and your admin side.

2. Sure, just hard code them in.

3. If you deleted the language variable, just re-create it. It is called lbl_special. To add new links to that menu, just edit customer/special.tpl and code the links in.

4. Use static embedded pages. Those will use the same framework as the rest of the site, but put your html content in the main area.

Balinor, thanks for the reply, but I still need some help...

This worked for the admin side, but nothing changed on the customer side. Why is this? Do I still need to edit something else? Help!
