I'm running 4.0.13 and haven't done an upgrade before. Perl isn't recognized on my Windows platform, so I can't upgrade from within X-Cart. Is the upgrade process pretty straightforward if you just copy the new files over or do I have to have the upgrade module working within X-Cart?

You can specify the path to Pearl in General settings. And yes, you need to run the upgrade through the admin area, as there are new files and patch files.

Well, I'd love to specify the path to Perl, except X-Cart doesn't see it, even though it's installed and tested to be working . No matter what path I use, X-Cart cannot see Perl.

From what I remember, this was a Windows-specific issue in which anonymous user permissions had to be granted to CMD.EXE on the server for X-Cart to see it, and obviously that's a HUGE security risk.

UPDATE: I've confirmed that for Perl to be recognized by X-Cart on Windows, I've have to enable anonymous permissions on CMD.EXE.
