It is in the nature of any living organism to protect itself. People have brains and can think (or can they?). Put 2 and 2 together and think about the hot coffee in the cup. Do you really need a warning written on the cup to tell you that the content is hot and may burn you? A 5-year old that have never seen a hot stove before may and probably will want to touch it. But a grown person acting like a child?
Exactly! But unfortunately... You happen to be in a country now, where liability / responsibility and "who is to blame?" have all taken on a new set of meanings...which have then propagated worldwide. Where there's blame, there's a claim! Such is life!

Yes, but refer to the above again, because that's the 'hidden' factor. This means that if you think it's all clear cut... think again

Sadly, there's plenty of "successful legal cases" where this common sense logic has not been applied after elongated court hearings

XC - Are you able to look into this?

Did you find a solution to to pop-up from continually popping up on X-cart mobile? On my mobile sites, it pops up every 2nd or 3rd page load and is really annoying!!

Is there an easy way to disable the pop-up for now? (I'm not using Geo and didn't realize I maybe needed to buy two mods to fix 1 problem??)

@costanza

It seems that Mobile Skin for v4 overlaps the popup on your store.

So to those of us who think GDPR doesn't apply outside EU - surprise surprise…

https://www.caprivacy.org/ - goes into effect Jan 1, 2020

https://www.caprivacy.org/about

QT better start preparing US module as I am sure soon enough all states will follow with maybe a Federal law too.

Maybe new thread is in order...

California - why am I not surprised? They're still debating on whether coffee is cancer causing and needs a label on the cup there.

We just moved to a new server on TSS and upgraded from MySQL v 5.5x to MySQL v 5.6.40 and all's good except now the GDPR module does not work. I've turned the module on and off a couple of times and cleared all caches but no go. I've downloaded all files off the new server and compared with a backup made before the move and all files match.

Any clues anyone?

Thanks!

Paul
