Default Checkout page errors with Xpay

Hi all,
I have Xpay installed on my Xcart 5 website. We're sometimes seeing this error on certain countries on the checkout page:
HTML Code:
X-Payments error (code: 1521): The 'state' field is missing or incorrect
Do all countries have to have a drop down menu for the states? Or how can we stop the system from requiring this state field?

Also, this pop up window (which shows at the very top of the page to give a message such as "Your payment declined")

does not display correctly in Firefox, but works fine in Google Chrome. Does anyone know why this is?

Hello @info@toinfinity.co.uk,

Could you please let me know what Country produces this error message?
I have forwarded the problem about Your payment declined message to our X-Payments engineers. They will check the problem.

Switzerland is one of the countries where it's doing it. Even with the correct state written in, the error shows
